Getting over the ex isn't easy when you have kids. And then there's that dating thing. I just answered a reader's question via video... join the fun - e-mail me a question at mssinglemama@gmail.com
Its hard. But yeah I didn't date the first year (err now year and a half.) I think that was the best thing I did because it took time for me to realize that I am strong. That I deserve the best. And that I am not going to settle and I can be single and it will be fine. The first 3 to 6 months was the hardest I just wanted to go date. I even signed up for a dating site but never went on a date. It didn't help I had NO single mama friends. I think it would have been a life saver if I had a single mama friend that I could "date" so to speak. We could get a sitter and go out every once in a while and just have fun. Someone who understood.
Good advice. I am at 10 months since the break up and I am still not ready to date. It really does take a while when you have a child and have to see the ex all the time. Hopefully it gets better soon!
