The Kidzoom childrens camera has been around awhile and the manufacturer has been polishing it over the years. Some reviewers do comment on the picture quality but funny thing, it's from adults who seem to miss the incontrovertible fact that a children's digital camera isn't for pro picture taking. They're for having fun and for helping youngsters to grow creatively.
Things to be aware of
* Runs off four AA batteries that may only last a couple of weeks.
* Battery replacement requires a screw driver and so help from an adult or older child.
* If you use only the built in memory, changing batteries causes photos to be lost so be certain to download pictures before the batteries run out. Adding an SD memory card is highly recomended to guard loss of images and avoid a very disappointed kid. An adult will often have to help with this but it's fast and easy and a nice together activity as you view and oo and ah over the pictures. You can get a 2 GB SD memory card for only $10.
* Resolution is not like mommy or father's camera ( but is fine for an a young child )
* Games can get boring after a bit
* No dates and times recorded with photo
* Some folks report having to unplug and replug-in the USB on a MAC to get a good connection.
