Changing the way you see a potential mate
The biggest part of this divorce journey is trying to change my perspective of others so I do not repeat the mistakes I have made in past relationships. I'm doing a lot of therapy and attending a support group.
Today I blogged about my changing perspective on romance and bad boys. I think I'm coming to realize that I'd rather have a good, stable man who provides what my heart needs rather than an exciting, titillating man who provides other needs but leaves me emotionally empty. Seriously, though, if I could find an exciting, titillating man who was also kind and decent and not mean or jealous or abusive, I'd be all over it. Reading the Five Love Languages (a friend recommended it... ;) ) and trying to see how I might interpret people's love actions/speech when it's not delivered in my language.

Comment by Brennan on December 9, 2008 at 10:01pm - So, interestingly, I hear this over and over and over again, but I certainly don't see it manifest itself in the actions of women who are wanting to date. Don't get me wrong, PT, I don't for a moment doubt that you feel the way that you do, but in my experience that's not what I have encountered from the women I've met.
