Thanks mary, you made me laugh this morning, see im 18 months single and i have not dated yet!But i dont want to go through serveral guys either lol im thinking applications and lie detector screenings should be first and then a questioner lol have a great day and thanks for responding...

Geez Kerrie, you're gorgeous! I don't think you would have any problem finding someone. The thing to concentrate on is finding the RIGHT person. I wish I knew the answer to that question 3 guys ago! Being alone is far better than settling. Sounds like you already know that though. Good for you.

Hi! JD mine did as well and the girl he is with even divorced, maybe im more aware of what i want and will settle for, or maybe fate has be being alone for the rest of my life lol i dont know what it is but, i guess its just a little worse around the holidays.

Wow. Same hear, my ex met someone before the divorce was final( and that only took a month) So, I know exactly how you feel.

LOL...will let you know if/when I figure that out myself. You have to be very careful of the online dating things. Also, realize that you are probably not going to find a 100% match out there, and think about what are your must have qualities in a man, those things that you are not willing to compromise on. It is much harder than when we were younger. Also, I've seen debates about how long you should talk with someone before you meet...and sounds like it varies by individual....some women like to meet the guys right away, and others like to talk/IM for a while to establish rapport before meeting. Figure out what works best for you. It will happen, sometimes when you least expect it. Best of luck to you...and know that you aren't the only one out there struggling with this.

I have decided should i want to go that path again, I will go through a matchmaker. I obviously made some bad choices so I have been looking at them when I saw a tv series on them.

In the old days that his how people got paired up and stayed married. We have just a high divorce rate in the US, and we make to easy to get out but I often think it is because we made a bad choice from the get go. So, for one would rather have some critique me and work on up from there.

Kerrie, while I'm not in dating mode yet my curiosity is certainly bubbling under the surface and like you I'm not optimistic about the dating sites from what I've seen. My daughter and I did a project with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado this summer and I met a lot of wonderful people. Volunteerism is something I'll probably do a lot more of in the near future both for the sense of contribution and to expand my circle of friends (...and beyond down the road!). There's a vast number of meetup groups out there also, some of which appear to actually be sincere social groups as opposed to the far more common "hookup" groups. I think sites like this one here where there is a common thread of interest are a great way to get to know people on a low key level without the impending "date me" neons flashing.

Your right it does seem to be that way. But if it takes for ever to find true happiness then i have for ever to wait.

I think in every divorce, you have the one who is off with another person almost immediately and the other who got left trying to figure it all out.

Online profiles are like a book cover. How many times have you walked through a Barnes and Noble and skipped over many of the books not even given them enough time to see if it's a great book. It's like we have to go into marketing to just figure out how to get people to even look.
