- I'm a newly single mom (as of September) of 2 toddlers, Rex and Gen. I'd been a stay-at-home-mom and caregiver to my grandmother, who suffered from dementia and congestive heart failure. She passed away in July, which was incredibly hard for the 3 of us. Now I'm trying to find my feet beneath me. I keep saying, things can only go up from here!

Is being a parent a deal-breaker?
I guess we all have our deal-breakers--you know, the qualities or habits that make someone undateable by our personal standards. (For me those include any indication that he may be abusive, an addict, a narcissist, and/or an infidel. Clearly I just want to weed out THE NAST this time around. I'm Catholic. Hmm...I was raised Catholic. I guess I'm a lapsed Catholic...?
Do you know what "lapsed" means? "Having fallen into sin."
Yeah...that's my problem.
I know my religion. (C'mon. I was raised by my Polish Grandma.) I did not miss mass. I was active in my faith. I went to parochial schools. At one point I was a catechist, a lector, a youth group leader and a Eucharistic minister. I agonized over the lack of involvement of young people in the Church. The Church was home to me.… Continue

I feel like I'm on the brink of something here. Something that could be amazing if I let it. But it could also be devastating, and I don't know if I can I handle that.

"...he's so good to me..." When I read that, I actually screamed. Thinking about it now makes me cringe. You have NO idea. I could tell you so many things that he IS, and good to women would never make that list.
