There is a sense of pride, and hope and joy, that goes along with being a parent of a child with these types of issues, isn't there? You are the first person who has acknowledged that. Have you seen the site 4pawsforability.org? Might interest you. . . I just stumbled across it literally 10 minutes ago when my sister-in-law told me about it. I might have to foster a dog in training for a child! Public awareness and education is important to me too--right now my focus is more on mental illness and depression, and suicide prevention. I'm helping to organize a walk in October--once that's done, I'll shift my focus. Maybe I'll take a puppy then!
