About my family
Hello and welcome to my page. I am 37 years old and a single mom. I was a very young mother. I got started at the age of 18. By the age of 21, I had four children. I now have five. I planned four, but God gave me a "Bonus Child." I am pretty much Mom and Dad to my children as neither of my exes are in my children's lives.
My oldest is now 18. My youngest is nine. I couldn't be more proud at how they have turned out. Our lives have not been easy, but they never let that stop them. I have always told my kids that they can acheive any goal they set out to acheive as long as they work hard and never give up. My oldest is starting college in the fall. She got in based on high academics and did not even have to worry about acceptance. She has writen her first novel and plans to be a teacher and author. My second oldest is going to be the Sr. Color Guard Capt. (same as flag corp.) next year and is highly gifted with the Bass Clarinett. My son is also gifted with the Tenor Saxohpone. All three have turned down awards and nominations to the National Honor Society because those things interfered with other activities. They were all nominated by teachers and were accepted in the People to People Ambassidor Program. They participate in a group called AOA which does Medieval reinactments. They joust, sword fight, hike and do volunteer work. My fourth child is in middle school and is also very gifted academically speaking. She plays the flute. All four of the older children are in Chess Club, Math Club, and Latin Club. The older two are in dance and Aegis English which is a specialized program for those gifted in English. To be accepted in Aegis is an honor because it is based on writings and works submitted annonymously. The board chooses only the top 20 applicants each year for the program. All five are orange belts in TaeKwonDo and the older two are orange belts in Karate, as well. My youngest is in elementary school and is the social butterfly. She has received numerous awards from her school for going out of her way to help others.
All of my children have already made outstanding accomplishments in their short lives. They did this in spite of our family struggles, absent father and economic status. This just goes to prove that with a positive attitude and determination, all things are possible!!!!!!! I sincerely hope that whatever struggles you face, however strongly you feel about giving up or whatever feelings you may harbor of insecurites/failures that you can have a renewed hope and overcome all these things and realize that if a person like me can make it work, so can you! Bless you all!

Our town is a college town, home of the University of Oklahoma (go Sooners!) They take seriously their football, bands and any other competitive sport, as well as high academics. It also happens to be a very religious town. There are more churches here than one can count ranging in domination from Jewish to Catholic to Baptist and so on and so forth. We're all southern folk here. I guess you could say the people take pride in their town, culture and country. With all the hype in the media about…

I love my kiddos more than life itself. I'm the epitome of what a proud parent is, I suppose. They are constantly amazing me with their talent and overall wonderfulness.... I never had a great self-esteem growing up. I hid my talents and never tried to really accomplish anything great. My mother, bless her heart, was not a very supportive one back in those days. She did the best she could with the life circumstances thrown her way. One thing that is cool about that is that I learned from her mis…

I have recently felt like I am ready to start trying to date. My last break was devastating to me because of it's nature. My family was torn apart and basiclly I became a man hater for about a year. I resolved much of that now. I'm not totally sure that I am ready for a relationship, but would like to try one. I have to learn to trust again before I can have a real relationship and I'm just not sure if I can at this point. I'm pretty open and upfront with guys about that. The last thing I want i…

When I was only twelve years old, I knew more than anything in my life that I wanted to be a mother. I had already been volunteering at the church daycare center and in the nursery. I loved kids! I had lost my father at age eleven and my brother (and only sibling at the time) the following year. I wanted to make sure that my children would never feel the loneliness I felt at that time. So, I thought about it and decided that I wanted four children. Four was a great number! I figured it was not t…
