It wasn't easy choosing iHeart's first Single Parent of the Month because you all know how many awesome iHeart members are here (and what a
great thing that is, right?)
The nomination for ihspotm was super close. I want to recognize
Heather Mac,
Just Peachy,
Sweet Pea's Mommy because each of them have gone out of their way to make people's day a bit brighter here on iHeart and they have not gone unnoticed!
I am so excited, though, to announce November's Single Parent of the Month. He is someone that, I think we all agree, shines a very special light. And when Clare and I envisioned a community for single parents we dreamed of a place that is authentic, uplifitng and supportive.
Steve Grady gives all of these things to this community and adds a very real and spiritual depth to it as well. He has also been a big part of the
project to reach and share iHeart with other single parents. Thank you,
Steve.
Join us in honoring his supportive, loving, and joyful energy this month of thanksgiving. He is a man
full of gratitude and we are grateful for him!
I hope you enjoy this short interview with Steve as way to learn a little more about him. We encourage you to stop by his page, get to know even better, and tell him congrats!

Meet
Steve Grady
How long have you been a member of iHeart?
Not quite sure, I believe June, 08 (member # 400+).
How has your life changed since becoming a member of iHeart?
I've been blessed with some friends that can truely understand the trials and precious moments of being a single parent. It has given me the opportunity to touch some hearts in a positive way, and to bring a smile ( hopefully ) to some of our members who would otherwise be having a bad day. I've also had my heart touched deeply by members when others (nonsingle parents) don't have a clue as to what it takes to be a single. I guess what I'm really trying to say is I've gained a family of people that are all on the same journey as I am - being the best parent possible no matter what the circumstances.
What is your life philosophy in ten words or less?
LOVE EVERYONE: Always show patience, tolerance, acceptance, sympathy + empathy, GRATITUDE!!
If you could have any super power what would it be?
It would be the ability to make everyone realize that no matter what they have been through, what they have done, or what they have been told about themselves - that they are good people and to be able to bring a smile to thier face.
My way through a hard day is having faith that my Higher Power will carry me through, also prayer and meditation.
Fun fact about me not many people know:
I act like a weirdo and do off the wall stuff just to get a laugh out of my daughter ( and other kids).
Childhood ambition:
To be loved and accepted, (long story).
Goal for 2009:
Spiritual growth: to continue to be openminded and to remain teachable, to stay in gratitude, and to remember to reach out and give instead of taking.
May peace and love be with all.
