OMG, have we become our parent's and words to live by

I was thinking today of those things i used to hate my mom did or other adults when I was a kid. Then I realized how much of them had helped me be a good parent.

Things like early to bed early to rise.

Having good self control


Have good manners. I once got an apt to rent over the phone base soley on my manners so said the landlord.

So what words of wisdom to you learn that have helped you be a better parent?
