delay tactics
so i sued my ex for child support and custody. i went to the lawyer in may. he tried to serve the ex...but hmmm...nowhere to be found...so our july court date came up and he still hadn't been served.
I tell my lawyer..."i see him every week, give me the damn papers, and i'll serve him!"...so a new court date was set and (with the help of a friend) i served him, in plenty of time for him to have his required 30 days to file an answer. well here we are, the day before court, and what a shocker, he never filed his answer or financial statement. So my only hope is that he's a total moron and doesn't show up tomorrow. otherwise they will just give him another month or so to get on that paperwork.
What's with this? am i the only person that thinks the courts are ridiculous? if i was a judge and someone blatantly defied a court requirement, i'd be pissed at the disrespect! but no...we'll just delay. what's worse is that he told me (in texts, which i have saved) the day i served him that he would do this. so it's flat out disregard for the court. i'm so pissed! and yet...i know him all too well...and totally expected this.

JANER your courts suck. they make up stuff as they go along. here the rules are set and you can look them up. not there. they are giving me the run around. here i can look up the rules and process and the courts will explain them to me. not there. they treat ou like a third class citizen. it is why moved a divorce from there to here. i get on the phone and call the gov there and they are jerks. escape to the us. your prov privac laws are a joke. so rry for my rant but i do legal research now in canada because of this. my fav legal site is www.canlii.org out of canada. it has been my best secret weapon.

Janer I joined a div forum there in Ont. and one guy finally went to his first case conference. He summarized it well. But things are not all settled. The more I read the more discouraged I get. To much wiggle room to much room to negotiate out of agreed things and if people there do not agree it can drag on and on.
I wish they would stick to the law and not have this back and forth changes. Hope all is well. Me, i am taking a need break from all this bs. I got a group of men there mad. They said I was wasting legal time and money on lawyers. Ha. all my own work then they said the laws meant nothing to them. Ouch.
They said a judge should take kids away from women who waste the courts time and money. lol. I should send one of them. Not nice.
